Planned Parenthood's Profits Soar With Surge in Abortions

Abortion giant's top executives rake in mega-bucks from baby-killing franchise

America’s abortion giant is congratulating itself on killing the highest number of babies while raking in cash from taxpayers and private funders to an all-time high of $2 billion.

In its annual report released in April, Planned Parenthood boasts it made $178 million in profits from slaughtering 392,715 babies, which is 18,560 more than the previous year.  

While the report for 2022-2023 plays the victim card and laments that it is going through “the most trying of times,” the abortion consortium increased its private contributions by 44% from the previous year, to almost $1 billion, with taxpayer funding at nearly $700 million.

'By contrast, the abortion chain reports the lowest number of adoption referrals in 10 years. For every adoption referral it made, it performed approximately 228 abortions.'

With several states banning or placing restrictions on abortion, Planned Parenthood brags about expanding direct financial support to help patients cover the expense of abortion-related travel, with over 15,000 women receiving assistance to help cover travel costs.

“Demand at Planned Parenthood health centers in states where abortion is protected has soared by up to 700%,” the report trumpets.

From July 2022 to June 2023, 863,000 users accessed abortionfinder.org, which it claims is “an authoritative source for abortion information,” the report added.

While the abortion giant, founded by racist-eugenicist Margaret Sanger, has historically focused on African-American women in low-income neighborhoods, it is now expanding its reach to Spanish-speaking communities through its “Sexo sin-vergüenza” blog.

Additionally, Planned Parenthood Global is supporting litigation efforts in Mexican states to protect individuals from incarceration for obtaining abortions.

Planned Parenthood claims its affiliates offer services to over 573,000 Latino patients and nearly 350,000 patients who identify as black.

Attempting to challenge pro-life protections and ultimately overturn the Supreme Court's Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, Planned Parenthood’s lawyers are currently handling around 30 open cases across 16 states, blocking these laws or policies in almost two-thirds of the cases, the report claims.

Despite one in four women having had an abortion, abortion continues to be stigmatized. The giant says it has launched a national campaign to destigmatize abortion with patient storytellers sharing their own experiences.

'According to a report published by American Life League, Planned Parenthood paid an eye-watering sum of $16.8 million to its 53 CEOs — with the average salary of a CEO at $317,564.'

Despite its claims to promote racial equality, 87% of Planned Parenthood CEOs were non-Hispanic white, with only three CEOs identified as Hispanic. Of the 53 Planned Parenthood CEOs at the affiliate level, only four were black. The lowest-paid CEO was a black woman.

Darrah Johnson, CEO of the Pacific Southwest, receives the highest compensation, at $616,926. She is followed by Ken Lambrecht of Greater Texas, who is paid $592,432, and Jon Dunn of Orange & San Bernardino Counties, who pocketed $570,726.

The average compensation for top executives at Planned Parenthood Federation of America headquarters went from $237,999 in 2015 to $421,713 in 2021 — a whopping 77% increase, the American Life League report found.

Conversely, according to Planned Parenthood’s own statistics, “nearly 70% [of its targeted customers] live with incomes at or below 150% of the federal poverty level, the equivalent of $39,300 a year for a family of four.”

'The abortion franchise, which is organized as a nonprofit that pays no taxes, reported an income of $5.2 billion over the past three years and total profit (income in excess of expenditures) of $408 million over the same period.'

“This report is jarringly titled ‘Above and Beyond,’” Jeff Bradford, president of Human Coalition, said in a statement. “The sick irony is that they are going ‘above and beyond’ not to care for women, but to expand abortion — more wounded women, more dead children.”

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, lamented in a statement, “Planned Parenthood’s business is abortion, abortion and more abortion.”

“Their annual report shocks the conscience, showing that they ended nearly 393,000 American lives in a single year,” Dannenfelser noted.

The pro-lifer argued the data shows that “pregnant women who walk into Planned Parenthood are sold an abortion 97 percent of the time, rather than helped to keep their child or make an adoption plan.”

In its previous report for 2021-2022, Planned Parenthood announced that it had diversified its portfolio beyond abortion into the transgender industry by offering puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to young adults and minors.

The report noted that 41 of the abortion giant's 49 affiliates carry out transgender hormone injections and/or distribute puberty blockers — a massive spike from the 30 affiliates that charged customers for such work in the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
