In the last three weeks, the Biden-Harris government added $473 billion to the national debt.

This means that just since the beginning of October, every American man, woman and child has just been given an additional $1,450 of debt – surprise!

I say "additional" because every single American already owes $103,700 for their portion of the ongoing national debt; in 2024, the interest payments alone have amounted thus far to more than $1 trillion – and climbing.

Anyone with the slightest bit of an understanding of economics knows how harmful debt-fueled spending is, and knows that it is entirely unsustainable – that it will eventually destroy the nation. Yet, our governments continue this practice. Worse, much of this borrowed money isn't spent in America or on Americans; instead, it is given away to foreign powers, and even foreign rivals.

Did you know the United States gives aid to China? Yes, the nation that is a "peer-level" rival power receives cash handouts from US taxpayers. The nation that is challenging the United States for the position of largest global economy. The nation that is behind the rival global financial system (BRICS) that threatens to upend the US economy, with a military that the Pentagon designated "the most consequential strategic competitor for the coming decades."

Actions like these (borrowing money to give away) make one wonder what the difference would be between the conduct of recent administrations and that of a hostile force. If an enemy wanted to destroy a nation – quietly, without direct military force – what would it do differently than the US government isn't currently doing to its own people? I asked artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT this question, and this was its fascinating response:

From the terrible economic choices to the opioid crisis (created by the lack of care for the wellbeing of fellow citizens and the pursuit of profit above all); from the lowering of educational standards in the name of "anti-racism;" to the fragmentation and paid disinformation peddled in media, government, and by bad actors on social media, this strategy is well underway and it is working!

The only question now is, how do we change course? How do we reverse these destructive systems and restore the nation?
