The language we use matters – and not just in terms of what words we choose, but the actual language we speak. For centuries, the official language of the Church was Latin. And now, following the Second Vatican Council, the official language is … still Latin. It is the language of the Church, of Her documents, of the Scriptures, and of the Mass; and we abandon it at our peril.
Excellent. Even today, everyone knows what to look for when in a burning building, the EXIT sign; very Latin.
