WPATH's 'care' for children

One of the greatest medical scandals of all time is running under the radar of public scrutiny.

But, recently released files are exposing the cruel, immoral and sadistic underpinnings of the leading global transgender healthcare body. Leaked to, and made public by, journalist and author Michael Shellenberger, the files reveal the trickery and cruelty inflicted on children by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).

"The WPATH Files show that what is called ‘gender medicine’ is neither science nor medicine,” the journalist says. "The experiments are not randomized, double-blind, or controlled. It's not medicine since the first rule [of medicine] is to do no harm ..."

Shellenberger underscores the irreversible damage inflicted on children as a result of what his exposé calls the "pseudoscientific surgical and hormonal experiments on children."

"Activist members of WPATH know that the so-called 'gender-affirming care' they provide can result in life-long complications [e.g., permanent loss of sexual function] and sterility," he says.

Furthermore, he says, informed consent, traditionally considered the ethical linchpin of medical research, is ignored by the group: "These leaked files show overwhelming evidence that the professionals within WPATH know that they are not getting consent from children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults, or their caregivers."

In a leaked video, one endocrinologist can be seen admitting to the impossibility of eliciting informed consent from children:

"The thing you have to remember about kids is that we're often explaining these sorts of things to people who haven't even had biology in high school yet. I think when we're doing informed consent — I know that that's still a big lacuna … we try to talk about it, but most of the kids are nowhere in any kind of a brain space to really, really, really talk about it in a serious way."

"That's always bothered me," he said, "but, you know, we still want the kids to be happy — happier — in the moment, right?"

Shellenberger notes that at no point in the leaked video do any of the WPATH members check themselves and say, "Maybe we shouldn’t be doing this."

Distressing data

The "this" includes a complex interlocking array of medical procedures and surgeries that would make Dr. Josef Mengele marvel. Numerous sources describe them in various ways, but following are brief descriptions of a few being performed –

Female-to-male procedures carried out on minors include double mastectomies, as well as removing excess fat and skin and repositioning nipples. A fabricated “penis,” using tissue from other parts of the body, is also constructed and surgically attached to the victim-patient.

Male-to-female procedures include breast implants and castration. Tissue in the genital area is rearranged to create a vaginal opening. The construction of a vagina results in what is often called a permanent “wound,” highly susceptible to infection and often making subsequent operations necessary. Dilators must be used indefinitely to maintain vaginal depth and width.

Comprehensive, current and accurate data is hard to come by, but mainstream media generally reports that many surgeons will not perform surgery on adolescents under age 16. But, according to an October 2022 report by Reuters, at least 282 adolescents ages 13 to 17 received a gender-affirming mastectomy in 2021 – and filed an insurance claim for the procedure in the United States.

According to the America First Policy Institute, the number of children known to be on puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones in the US more than doubled in just four years— from 2,394 in 2017 to 5,063 in 2021. It has found that many US physicians are prescribing puberty blockers to children as early as 8 years old.

The Institute also points out that the US allows doctors to perform sex-reassignment surgery on children at a younger age than most comparable nations (12 years old in some cases in the US).

The Cass Report

A new medical study is pushing back against the "if-it-makes-them-happy, mutilate- them" contingency.

The 400-page review into the practice by Dr. Hilary Cass, a leading UK pediatrician, is problematizing the ideological assumptions of the left-leaning, pro-trans community.

Dr. Cass, who completed the report at the behest of Britain's National Health Service, is urging medical professionals to consider patients more holistically. Her report exhorts them to acknowledge that so-called "gender distress" young people experience is part of a larger picture including "anxiety, autism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, or past trauma."

For alleviating and treating the distress children may experience as they are growing up, "a medical pathway may not be the best way to achieve this," she asserts.

She concludes that hormone drugs and other treatments should no longer be given to under-18-year-olds, and is instructing UK gender clinics to “implement a pause on offering first appointments to young people” under that age.

In a piece about Dr. Cass' study in The Atlantic, one writer opined:

"In a world without partisan politics, the Cass report on youth gender medicine would prompt serious reflection from American trans-rights activists, their supporters in the media, and the doctors and institutions offering hormonal and surgical treatments to minors."

Comparable to Unit 731

In a recent interview with Canadian psychologist and author, Jordan Peterson, Shellenberger explains how, until he became privy to the files, he was, like so many, in a state of denial about what’s being done to children in the name of science.

"I just didn't really think that these things were going on at the scale at which they're occurring. I thought maybe people were exaggerating what's happening," he reflected.

"These files put to rest any doubts anybody should have that what is happening is one of the greatest medical mistreatment scandals in human history," he contended. "It might be the worst. It's up there with lobotomies and the Tuskegee experiments."

“Those were bad, but this is way worse,” Peterson interjected, comparing the contemporary transgender experiments on children and young people to the unspeakable horror of the Japanese medical experiments on the Chinese in Unit 731 (1936–1945).

"Leave them the hell alone," Peterson exclaimed coming to the defense of the children.

Over two thousand years before Peterson, Jesus came to the defense of children issuing an admonishment to those who would wound them. Matthew recorded it in his gospel:

 "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

Woe to the world because of things that cause sin! Such things must come, but woe to the one through whom they come!"

Shellenberger, a Christian, returned to the faith while writing his book "Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us All" (2020). The author, an advocate for a greener planet for decades, began to notice cracks in the narrative espoused by the climate activists and how it was fueling anxiety, especially among young people. He decided to take action and separate fact from fiction.
